It’s unavoidable – we are all getting older. The good news is we are learning new things and becoming the people we want to be. There is so much change. Perspectives, priorities, likes and dislikes as we gain experience. What else changes is our health and wellness needs change. The best thing you can do for yourself is to be prepared for what your body needs now and what it’s going to need in the future.

Even Heather Morris’ Kids love Slime

EAVESDROP, Overheard By September 5, 2017 No Comments

Heather Morris of “Glee” and “DWTS” is the mom of two boys: Elijah who was born in 2013 and Owen who was born in Feb. 2016. Guess what? Even celebrities entertain kids with edible slime and Lego!!

On September 3, Heather will go psycho in a new Lifetime movie, “Psycho Wedding Crasher.” This is a totally different role from what viewers saw on “Glee.”  (And with no singing or dancing!!!)

When Kids Get Social (Media)

tech By August 25, 2017 No Comments

I’ve been social on the Internet since before the days of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat…and all of the other social media platform. It was me and my laptop and a blog I set up for free, writing my feelings on the Internet and sharing stories with others that allowed us to connect over “Me Too.”

The stories I shared at the time were mostly about my kids. The witching hour before bedtime, major milestones (First Day of School! First Day of School!) and adventures we went on as a family. As they got older, the stories about them have waned, because while venting about a toddler having a meltdown in public is commonplace, talking about personal issues that their friends can Google just isn’t an option in our house. If I do write about them, it gets their stamp of approval before I hit “Publish.”

Putting Your Best Face Forward

beauty, LIVE By August 24, 2017 Tags: No Comments

When I received my sample of SeabuckWonders Exfoliating Facial Cleanser, I admit that I was a little jaded.

If you look in the closet in my bathroom (Please don’t ever do that. Seriously.) you will see, gathering dust on the third shelf next to a triple-barrel curling iron and one of those wands that was supposed to give me spiral curls but actually wound up burning most of the whorls off my thumb and index finger: several half-used tubs of sea salt/sugar scrubs in varying sizes and scents, yellow gloves, a giant loofah, multiple bath poofs, and a plastic bin full of sample tubes from different product lines, all for the purpose of exfoliating my skin.

Some of them…many of them…smell bad. Others are gooey and unpleasant. Still others left me looking freshly peeled or caused breakouts. And one kept clogging my bathtub drain.

Hiding The Electronics Guilt

tech By August 24, 2017 No Comments

Sounds of electronics filled the air as I happily chopped up some things to get dinner ready.

The doorbell rang and I froze.

Not even a moment later, I jumped into action by grabbing and hiding the Ipads away from two now unhappy children before I got to the door.

What kind of mother would anyone think I am if the minute we get home, my son and daughter are given electronics to entertain themselves?

Have a Little Faith – Just Take this Leap!

LIVE, play, Seen, USA By August 23, 2017 No Comments

Children have big dreams. Usually, these dreams seem so far-fetched that grow ups will say, “That’s impossible,” but the heart of a child knows better. Even if the youngest of my companions during a screening of the animated film Leap! could see all best friends Felicie and Victor really need is the courage and the faith to take a leap if they want to realize their dreams of reaching Paris to become a ballerina and inventor.
