As part of the National Geographic Kids’ Insiders program, I had the opportunity to hop on a call with none other than the Second Lady of the United States Dr. Jill Biden. We did a Q&A with Dr. Biden about My Shot, her enthusiasm for kids education, her love of teaching, her support of the National Geographic Bee (she hosted a celebration of the Bee finalists at the VP residence in May 2015), and how she balances motherhood, education and her responsibilities to the Government of the United States.

My Shot:

My Shot is National Geographic’s photo community just for kids. Similar to Your Shot, their mission is to help kids tell stories collaboratively through big, bold photography and expert curation. Kids can receive photo tips, play games, learn and discover.

National Geographic Bee:

Each year thousands of schools in the United States participate in the National Geographic Bee using materials prepared by the National Geographic Society. The contest is designed to inspire students to be curious about the world. Schools with students in grades four through eight are eligible for this entertaining and challenging competition.
