Attention padawan learners and Rey fans everywhere! Fancy seeing more Star Wars on Netflix? Members in Canada are now able to stream Star Wars: The Force Awakens along with the last days of the Galactic Republic with the entire Clone Wars series and feature film. Because it is summer vacation, after all, and there are many, many lessons in Star Wars. (You may want to watch it a few times…).

Ideas:

1. Think of it as a multi-generational camping trip. Set up your living room for the long-haul and get the grandparents to be part of the fun. With the Clone Wars and The Force Awakens now on Netflix, three generations of families can bond over a beloved franchise that is familiar to all.

2. Birthday party? Set up a digital projector hooked to a laptop in the yard and hang a plain white sheet from a tree or fence to act as a screen. Cover the grass with every sofa cushion, pillow, sleeping bag and blanket in the house and get the popcorn ready. A group of kids will never have been so quiet as they watch!

Come, young Jedis. Watch, you can. And while you and the kids are glued to the stream, you may want to munch on our favourite new cookies. We present – the ‘Wookie Cookie’!!

Wookie Cookie Recipe:

Bake the base using your favourite roll-out cookie recipe and cutting with a gingerbread man cookie cutter. (We double the recipe and freeze the other half of the dough to save time for the next batch). Toast shredded coconut on a cookie sheet in the oven. Leaving it undisturbed will produce a multi-coloured fur effect that’s better than highlights! Whenever at a bulk store, stock up on decorative balls – you will never know when you will need them for fun cookies and cakes.
