I stayed at Hotel Le Germain a few months ago and then life happened so I was thrilled when I got the chance to stay once again.  When I think of Hotel Le Germain two things pop out –  the lobby bar and this crazy rope table the entrance. Oh, and the glass-encased shower that allows you to see into the bedroom.  And the water glasses with your room number etched into them.  And the ‘g’ chiseled into the granite in the bathroom.  And linens to die for. Oh wait.  That was like, 6 things. Yeah, I like the hotel lots.

Centrally located in Toronto’s theatre district, Hotel Le Germain (on Mercer Street as opposed to the newest property by Rogers Centre) allows easy access to the Blue Jays, Queen West shopping, the Bell Lightbox built for TIFF (the cool way to say the Toronto International Film Festival), and our wonderful Canadian space needle, the CN Tower.

Stay: Le Germain.  And have a drink in the lobby to meet fellow travelers.

Hear: I ducked out one night for some jazz at N’awlins. A fab spot in the big smoke. (Why do they call it that)?

Go: Canadian Stage Company.  Always a great night of theatre.

Visit: The Art Gallery of Ontario.  Great art, incredible food and even better shopping..

Snag: Cheese and sandwiches from St. Lawrence Market on Saturday morning.

Get Inspired: In the Great Hall at University of Toronto’s Hart House – especially if you’re traveling with Harry Potter Fans.  (Eat in the Gallery Grill if you can.)

Disclosure: UrbanMommies was given a small discount on the rack room rate at Hotel Le Germain.
