Growing up in Nova Scotia, I always spent Thanksgiving at our farmhouse built in 1763. The dining room has an exposed log wall and harvest table. Each of Norman Rockwell’s ‘Four Freedoms’ are framed in the room, making it a magical place to give thanks. Though I won’t be at the Farm for this year’s Thanksgiving holiday, I’m going to take a lesson from the Freedom from Want print. I will not only plan our festivities early but do my shopping for myself and my home in a stress-free way at Costco!

I am thrilled to be hosting a fabulous shopping event for Moms on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at the Downtown Vancouver Costco Warehouse from 9:30-10:30am.

The first 50 attendees will receive an incredible goody bag stuffed with our favourite Procter & Gamble and Kirkland products valued up to $45. As well, if you’re not already a Costco member, this will be the time to join! Costco will be providing a membership offer for event attendees! The offer will be available only for new sign ups or memberships expired more than 18 months for three weeks (until October 14, 2018) and will include the following:

  • –  $10 cash card for Gold Star or Executive signups
  • –  $20 Costco.ca voucher
  • –  $5 OFF Kirkland Signature Extra Virgin Olive Oil, $2 off one fresh produce item, $3 off one bakery item, and $5 off one fresh meat item

Costco has always been one of my favourite shopping hotspots. I remember Costco ‘shops’ (also sometimes ‘playdates’ when we met another Mom and baby) when the boys were tiny. We’d find smaller clothing, games and books for them, and fresh flowers for me! Buying larger sizes with incredible value has always been a priority for the family, and often there are items that are hard to find elsewhere. As a busy mom the food samples are always so welcome, and now that the kids are in school I cherish my moments truly perusing the food and coming up with new recipes with the broad selection of ingredients. Our two beloved canoes purchased there sit on the patio, and many kitchen appliances purchased there have served the family dutifully for years.

#CostcoMom Poster _JillSome things don’t last very long in our busy house though – like favourite P&G products the family uses consistently. Tide enables us to whip off 3 loads a day… Crest is somewhat slower to become empty because the kids forget to brush… Dawn for windows, floors and pets as well as the dishes… and Pantene, but now that my son has long hair we fight for it! Tampax is my personal go-to. And believe me. You really don’t want to run out while making your turkey dinner! Every time we get low in regular stock, Costco is constantly there for easy replenishment (and everything else I need in the house as well!). When life gets even more chaotic, online 24/7 at Costco.ca is the way to go – especially on Mondays when the coupons are released. (Shhh. You can buy yourself more personal items with the money you save!)

So please join me! If you are not yet a member, it’s the perfect time to experience the magic. Plus the goody bags. Plus high-fiving me because we will BOTH be preparing for Thanksgiving early. And our beautiful dinner tables will compel the whole family to cherish and feel lucky for our Freedom from Want.
