MMMMMM! French Toast for Kids. Try this one with cinnamon raisin bread for a fun twist to the traditional. Changing things is a great way for kids to ‘rediscover’ foods that they may not have liked the first time. You can also create variations on this one by using basic store-bought waffles. With either option, popping them into an air fryer is a great alternative to using oil and saves more time.

We make extra and freeze it in baggies for other days when time is more precious.

1 slice bread
1 egg yolk (or full egg for older kids)
1 tsp cream or milk
2 drops vanilla extract
pinch of sugar
Pinch of cinnamon (If not using cinnamon raisin bread)
butter for the frying pan

Mix the egg, cream, vanilla and sugar. Melt the butter in a frying pan over medium heat. Dip the bread into liquid and fry on each side for about 2 minutes, or until golden brown. Cut into fingers, or use cookie cutters for more interesting shapes (and Mom gets the edges and extra bits!). Add some fruit and a dusting of powdered sugar to create a beautiful meal you could serve for brunch.
