A - Conception occurs at ovulation and for someone who has a 28-30 day cycle ovulation will occur about mid-cycle (defined as half way between the first day of one period and the first day of the next period). However, ovulation timing can vary and if a woman has a shorter cycle length or a very long period of blood flow she could conceive at the end of a period. If pregnancy is not an option always use some form of birth control.
