Toronto, Canada’s largest city, is a wonderful place to live or visit. There are many things to do with kids in Toronto, and here are some of the top picks.

  1. The CN Tower. The CN Tower is the world’s tallest free-standing structure, rising 1,815 feet into the sky, right in the center of Toronto. You and your kids will get a thrill riding up in the glass elevator and viewing the city through the glass floors.
  2. Royal Ontario Museum (ROM). The Royal Ontario Museum has thousands of interactive and regular exhibits, displays, and galleries that will both educate and entertain. Fun for the whole family, right in the heart of downtown Toronto!
  3. Centre Island / Centreville Amusement Park. Centreville Amusement Park is found on Toronto’s Centre Island. It’s an old-fashioned park featuring pony rides and antique rides like a ferris wheel and carousel. Take a ferry to the island (the kids love that part!), and enjoy the dozens of fun but not extreme rides. Centre Island also has tons of bike paths, green areas, and wading pools, making it a perfect family outing.
  4. Ontario Science Centre. Learning and fun are definitely not mutually exclusive, and the Ontario Science Centre proves that! Kids can touch a tornado, crawl through caves, listen to body sounds suck as a heart murmur, and much more. They have new exhibits all the time, so check ahead. It’s slightly outside of Toronto, but worth the trip.
  5. Riverdale Farm. If you have kids under the age of 10, Riverdale Farm is perfect for them: 7.5 acres of green, right in the center of Toronto. It’s a working replica of a turn-of-the-century Ontario farm, where your kids can get in touch with what it was like to live before TV, phones, and other technology existed. Found in Old Cabbagetown, Riverdale Farm is a wholesome and interesting outing for you and the young ‘uns.
  6. Hockey Hall of Fame. If your family is a hockey family (and who isn’t?), a trip to the Hockey Hall of Fame is definitely something to do when in Toronto. It’s an outstanding place, with tons of interactive exhibits that put you right into the action, a replica of an NHL dressing room, gift shop, trophy room, and more.
  7. Ontario Place. This is the place to go for some active fun during the months from May to September. Ontario Place has the largest outdoor soft play/climbing structure in Canada, pedal boats, a complete water park, the biggest IMAX movie screen in the city, and more.
  8. The Toronto Zoo. The Toronto Zoo is huge, displaying over 5000 animals from all points of the globe on its 710 acres. Found in the lovely Rouge Valley, the habitats are laid out in six zoological areas dedicated to specific habitat types/areas of the world. Some of its award-winning features include the Gorilla Rainforest, an Interactive Kids Zoo, and the African Safari. Wear comfy shoes and prepare for adventure!
  9. Paramount Canada’s Wonderland. Canada’s Wonderland is outside of Toronto itself, but if you’re into theme parks, it’s a sure-fire way to amuse kids for a day. Canada’s Wonderland is big, has loads of thrill rides, family rides, live shows, and a water park – like a mini-Disneyland. One admission gets you onto all the rides. The park is a 20-minute drive from downtown Toronto, or about an hour by public transportation.
  10. Stay at the Delta Chelsea. Toronto’s Delta Chelsea Hotel features family-friendly accommodations and amenities like a separate indoor family pool, complete with 130-foot corkscrew waterslide. Toronto’s Delta Chelsea Hotel also offers theatre babysitting, a creative kids’ corner, and Camp Chelsea — a free service that gives parents a little time off. Sweet!
