Hummus and pita chips are always a crowd pleaser
Not only is this recipe healthy and super easy to make, it is always a favourite snack or appetizer to make before dinner. No one ever believes that this dip is simple to make.
- 1 can of chick peas drained (keep a few table spoons of the chick pea liquid)
- ¼ cup of tahini paste (you can find this everywhere now, it’s usually with the peanut butter or in the organic section)
- Juice of 1 lemon (I use lemon juice in a bottle if I have no lemons handy)
-
3-5 cloves of garlic (depends on how garlicky you like your hummus)
- ½ tsp. of salt
- 1 tsp. of cumin
If possible, use a hand blender over a food processor, as it’s easier to clean and blend with. Blend all ingredients together until smooth. Refrigerate until you are ready to serve. Serve with kalamata olives and pita bread.
