Spin Class. I was feeling nice and slim in my Nike jogging pants to the ankle subbing in for the legendary tight black biking shorts. Not there yet…
After the instructor re-adjusted almost everyone’s bike to custom fit our height and leg length, we were off. These “advanced classes” always seem like a great idea before and after the class, but during you question where your head was at only moments ago. The best part about a spin class besides the music is you are always challenging yourself and your neighbor on the bike next to you. The tension can always be increased by a quarter turn, and if you are daring and don’t mind the sweat, a half turn. The easiest part was beginning with some shoulder rolls to iron out any kinks before the strenuous uphill climb, then back down on the seat, back up back down and so on.
I have to admit it felt great, the kids were at pre-school, my husband at work and I was at the gym.
Once it was all over I walked back to the change room with numb legs, a smile and my trophy of accomplishment – a sweaty shirt.
