Long Term Use of the Pill

Many women worry that long term use of the pill make it harder for them to conceive. Long term use of the birth control pill does not make it harder to conceive. However many women take the birth control pill (BCP) for reasons other than just contraception, e.g. – cycle control issues, severe dysmenorrheal (painful periods), etc. If women have these issues and need birth control, the BCP is often prescribed as it can manage both concerns. These reasons can make conception more difficult regardless of the length of time someone is on the BCP.
