Drinking in Pregnancy

Q – Should I stop drinking now that I’m planning to get pregnant?
A – There are no studies that suggest a safe level of alcohol in pregnancy; therefore, we recommend that women do not drink while they are pregnant. If one is trying to get pregnant alcohol should be avoided as well. Remember, we are about two weeks pregnant before a period is missed. This said, if you conceive somewhat unexpectedly and have had a few drinks during the first two weeks there are usually no ill effects for the baby.
