Check out our cool recipes with playdoh you can make yourself. It’s even better because you know what is going into it.
Gingerbread Playdough
1 cup flour
1/2 cup salt
2 teaspoons cream of tartar
1 cup water
1 teaspoon vegetable oil
lots of cinnamon, allspice, ginger, nutmeg
Mix the flour, salt, and cream of tartar together. Play with the spices until you get the scent and color you want, and add to dry ingredients. Mix water and oil together first, then add them to the dry ingredients and stir. In a pot, cook the mixture for 2 to 3 minutes, stirring frequently. The dough will start to pull away from the sides of the pot and clump together. Take the dough out of the pot and knead it until soft and smooth. Allow to cool and store in an airtight container.
Cooked Playdough
1 cup flour
1/2 cup salt
2 teaspoons cream of tartar
1 cup water with preferred color food coloring
1 tablespoon oil
Mix all ingredients. Cook over medium heat until it forms into a ball and becomes “translucent”, not “milky”. Knead dough. Store in plastic covered bowl in refrigerator.
Uncooked Playdough
3/4 cups flour
3/4 cup salt
3/4 to 1 cup water with food coloring
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
Mix all ingredients. Knead until smooth consistency. Keep it covered and in refrigerator.
