    I allow my husband to play with the automated door locks and windows. Keeps him occupied.

    I give my boy a map so he can see where we are, he brings his books+toys, we talk about the destination, etc. Ample time to stretch legs at the pit-stops.

    We have a dvd player, so that keeps them entertained. Or we listen to the radio and sing together

    The alphabet game. You pick a theme (foods, animals etc) and go through the alphabet with each person coming up with something in that category that begins with the next letter as you go around.

    Leappads, dvd players, snacks and frequent stops. We stop and get out at a park to play at or something cool to look at.

    I pack a little bag of small toys, books, snacks & crayons/paper for my gang. We also have a DVD player and we listen to music and play games like I Spy.

    my kids are a little older now so they mostly are texting away lol but when they were little music and singing was a big thing to keep them occupied and little snacks help too

    We have a movie player that they watch as well we play little games, like name the type of car ahead of us, make and model

    I don’t have kids but I would make activity packs to take on the road that included colouring books, sketch books, pencil crayons etc. to keep the kids occupied.

    We play the alphabet game, or have snacks, or let my daughter play games on the cell phone or iPad.

    We put on a DVD for the kids and I read while my husband just drives!

    Travelling is the only time I allow the children to use the DS. They get excited about travelling.

    Miss R has a lap tray that she can colour on/play with toys or eat her snacks. Usually keeps her busy while on the road.

    We have portable DVD players and they use their iPod touches. We also play a game we call Spot The Mustang where we yell out each time we see a Mustang and keep track of who spots the most.

    well,with my 14 yo son,its all about the technology,,,,cell phone,DS,ipod,,etc…and having lots of snack breaks of course.

    We have a tackle box that we fill with snacks and crayons/mini toys for the kids to play while in the car.
