After successful performances at the Northern Alberta and Canmore International Children’s Festivals, Bobs & Lolo continue their tour of Alberta with performances at the Calgary Stampede, the Westerner Days in Red Deer and Capital Ex in Edmonton. With a well- established fan base in their home province of BC and growing national adoration, Robyn Hardy (Bobs) and Lorraine Pond (Lolo) are looking forward to sharing their live programming with families in Alberta. Their regular spots on the national children’s network, Treehouse TV and their 2010 JUNO nomination for Children’s Album of the Year, have increased their popularity throughout Canada.

What do the performers have to say?
Bobs: “We’re super excited to bring our live show back to Alberta! We’ve had such a great welcome previously from families in Canmore and St. Albert and the number of email and facebook messages from fans in other cities asking when we’ll be in their neighbourhoods has been incredibly encouraging!”

Lolo: “Having our videos air on Treehouse TV for the last year and a half has introduced our music to so many new families. We can’t wait to meet some of the kids in person! Our ultimate goal is to connect with as many kids as possible over the next month. In our opinion, the more little dancers & singers in the ‘kiddie mosh’ the better!”

The Bobs & Lolo Alberta Tour Schedule includes multiple shows daily at:
The Calgary Stampede, July 9 – 18
Westerner Days, Red Deer, July 21 – 25
Capital Ex, Edmonton, July 28 – August 1

About Bobs & Lolo
Bobs & Lolo use music, movement and make-believe to share stories and experiences that both entertain and educate, while ultimately teaching children to care about themselves, their neighbours and the planet. Their programming places an emphasis on celebrating the values of healthy-living and aims to inspire young audiences with an awareness and appreciation for the world around them. Catch Bobs & Lolo live this summer or watch for their regular appearances on the national children’s television network, Treehouse TV.

Vancouver, BC (July 5, 2010) – Having a baby for the first time is life changing; roles, routines, relationships, life priorities are never going to be the same. Many couples find that the transition to parenthood is more demanding than they expected and that their relationship as a couple is challenged in ways they could not have predicted.

Created by Dr. Michal Regev, a Vancouver-based registered psychologist and marriage and family therapist, the Partners to Parents Workshop aims to arm couples expecting their first baby with the tools to help ease the transition into new parenthood.

In this workshop for expecting couples, the following topics will be discussed:
* Mutual post-birth expectations
* Unhelpful communication patterns and how to change them
* Common challenges in the postpartum period and how to deal with them
* Tips will be shared on how to sail smoothly through the sometimes turbulent waters of the transition to parenthood.
* Information on postpartum resources will be shared.

Offered in a small group setting, the workshop is a comfortable place for couples to share their expectations, fears and excitement on becoming new parents.

“Many couples say that their baby brought them a sense of family and strengthened their commitment to each other. But the transition to parenthood can pose some challenges and hardships as well, especially in the first few weeks and months after the birth.” Dr. Regev says. “The focus of this workshop is to address these issues early on and learn effective ways to deal with them.”

Partners to Parents Workshop (Vancouver)
Saturday, July 24th @ 10:30am – 1:30pm
Sacred Space, 3574 West 4th Ave (between Dunbar and Collingwood)

Who should attend: Couples expecting their first child in 2010 – the presence of both partners is highly encouraged.
