Finding a Nutcracker

So who doesn’t love The Nutcracker? Little girls, little boys, grandparents and teens will all smile. Tutus, mice, an orchestra, and a chance to wear those fancy holiday outfits you’ve kept so perfectly in the back of the kid’s closets. Oh, and there’s no excuse. With 4, that is four, live productions throughout the lower mainland, this is one holiday tradition that you can definitely begin.
1. Moscow Classical Ballet: “The Nutcracker”
Where: Queen Elizabeth Theatre
Who: Ballet B.C. presents the classic danced by one of the world’s great companies.
When: Dec. 28-31

2. Royal City Youth Ballet’s “The Nutcracker”

Who: This Young company brings the holiday classic to venues across the region.

3. “The Merry Adventures of the Nutcracker”
Where: Jericho Arts Centre, 1675 Discovery St.
Who: Bert Garskof’s adaptation of the work as directed by Julia Henderson and presented by SoSuite Productions. A Christmas carol singalong precedes the show at 6:45 p.m.
When: Until Dec. 22, various times. *Thursday December 18th is a baby-friendly performance!

4. “The Nutcracker”
