Easy First Foods

Written by Jill  //  November 10, 2008  //  Uncategorized  //  2 Comments

We’re believers in inexpensive and easy first foods, and know that it can be daunting to do it yourself.  As a start, try this.  The next time you have the oven on, peel some parsnips, carrots or yams.  Rub with a tiny bit of olive oil and roast until dinner is done or the kids are out of the bath. Scoop the soft veggies into the food processor, adding enough water to get the consistency perfect for your little one.  Use ice cube trays covered in plastic wrap, or use trays specifically for baby food, and freeze.  We pop ours out the next day and freeze in labeled baggies.  There’s always a healthy meal in the freezer. (Even if ours aren’t so great..)
