Davie Day

Fun for the whole family!

What: a festival celebrating Vancouver’s West End
Date: Saturday, September 12, 2009
Time: 11:00 am – 8:00 pm
Location: Davie Street, between Burrard and Broughton
Cost: Free
Description:

TD Canada Trust presents the 6th annual Davie Day, a celebration of the history, culture, creativity, beauty and fun of Vancouver’s West End. This community festival sees Davie Street closed to traffic between Burrard and Broughton, making room for two performance stages, roaming entertainers, exhibitors and more. A lineup of local and international talent keeps the party going with song, dance and cultural acts that excite and inspire. Face painters, balloon artists and an interactive kid zone entertain little celebrants. A Green Zone engages environmentalists young and old with activities that make a difference. Food kiosks, extended patios, street vendors, artisans and local merchants offer a taste of the West End’s flavours and finds. A heritage zone offers a peek into the history of one of Vancouver’s oldest neighbourhoods.
